The life story...

Daniel is a self-taught director and writer from Manchester, U.K. 

His second feature, STARVE ACRE, starring Matt Smith and Morfydd Clark premiered in main competition at the London Film Festival 2023 and was distributed by BFI.

His debut feature film APOSTASY was nominated for a BAFTA for Outstanding Debut in 2019, and was inspired by his life as a Jehovah’s Witness. It won the IWC Filmmaker Award @ LFF 2017, Best Debut at the Writer’s Guild Awards 2019, and several other awards.

Before his first feature, Daniel wrote THE PREFECT, a script that was a semi-finalist for The Academy’s Nicholl Fellowships Award 2014, and was selected for Biennale Cinema College and iFeatures2.  

Daniel was selected by Screen International as one of their Stars of Tomorrow in 2015. Daniel’s short films have screened at multiple major festivals.
